Productos como arándanos, uvas, paltas, espárragos, cobre y oro podrían ver reducida su competitividad en el mercado estadounidense debido al incremento en sus precios .
Efectos económicos previstos
Se estima que estos aranceles podrían generar una caída en las exportaciones peruanas, sin embargo, dado que casi el 98% de las exportaciones peruanas a EE. UU. están cubiertas por el Tratado de Libre Comercio (TLC), las empresas peruanas podrían aprovechar la situación para aumentar su presencia en dicho mercado
Reacciones y medidas del gobierno peruano
Ante esta situación, el gobierno peruano debe enfatizar en la importancia de diversificar los mercados de exportación para reducir la dependencia del mercado estadounidense.
Por su parte, la Sociedad Nacional de Industrias (SNI) debe iniciar investigaciones para la aplicación de salvaguardas que protejan a la industria local de importaciones desleales.
Indecopi debe monitorear posibles casos de dumping y competencia desleal.
Es esencial que el gobierno y entidades como PromPerú desarrollen estrategias para fortalecer la presencia de productos peruanos en diversos mercados internacionales, y en caso de EE. UU, seguir aprovechando las bondades del TLC.
